The RATP, the public company operating public transportation in Paris and its region, wanted to remind its employees of the proper safety rules and procedures to follow on construction sites.
To make this internal message more engaging, the studio chose a 3D animation approach that combined clarity, simplicity, and accessibility.
Style
The goal was to create a clean and readable 3D environment that kept the focus on the workers’ actions. Guided by a visual reference provided by RATP, the overall tone remained simple, efficient, and consistent with their internal communication style. To support that clarity, we used an isometric perspective, offering a clear yet slightly playful view of the construction site. The textures were kept minimal, with a limited blue and white palette that highlighted the gestures and maintained a cohesive, polished look.
The character on the left shows the original 3D model purchased at the start of the project, while the one on the right is the custom version I reworked to match RATP’s uniforms and safety standards.
Beyond the visual adjustments, proportions, colors, and accessories, I also had to redo the rig, using Mixamo.

Animation
All scenes were built and animated in Cinema 4D, with Redshift used for rendering.
Character animation started in Mixamo to establish natural movements, then refined manually to add specific gestures.
For example, grabbing or placing tools.

Every tool and site element was modeled from scratch, following the RATP’s exact specifications.
It required several feedback rounds to get the proportions and details right while keeping the overall look stylized and easy to read.
